Design mock-up, not the live store The look All designs

The look

An old tool catalog, printed in the blue of the vise on your bench. This is what the store, emails, postcards and price sheets look like from now on.

Colors

Every color comes out of your own photos. The top of each chip is the photo, the bar under it is the color.

Type

Clamp the upper.

Hepta Slab, for anything you’d read from across the shop.

Libre Franklin is for what you read up close. It’s a plain American gothic, like an old parts list. Fit notes, part numbers and returns all go here.

Sentence case always. Figures are numbered and measurements are written the way a catalog writes them: Fig. 2, 3.5 in.

Photo color

Your white-ground shots stay as they are. The older purple-backdrop shots get a color correction: the backdrop moves to vise blue and the blocks go back to black. No retouching, and it’s the same on every one.

After. Corrected.

The name

Set in the headline type with the capital X kept. It isn’t a logo, just the name, set the same way every time.

Buttons

Big enough for a thumb. They say what they do.

Catalog entry

The product card. The part number on a black tab, the photo, a plain name, what it fits and the price.

Price table

Real prices, and the tiers Eddie still has to set.
